Black Hawk / Artiste solo
I live in Belgium and I’ve always been drawn to Music and Travelling. Looking for myself, I traveled mainly the Americas where I was happy to meet the people, the culture and visions of several American Indian nations. It was on one of those trips in Peru that my teacher, Loup Blanc, named me Black Hawk. Working with my teacher in the amazon forest, I became acquainted with medicinal and visionary concoctions of local plants used by the shamans. These experiences inspired me later in the lyrics of my songs and my artwork witch reflects my love for nature. After several years of experiencing shamanic trance music and the more traditional ethnic music I came back to Classic Rock for it was Rock music that inspired me to travel.
The Doors, Bruce Springsteen, John Lennon and many more made me dream of more and bigger… Of open spaces and freedom. Authors like Carlos Castaneda, poets like John Trudell and people like Crazy Horse, Red Cloud or Geronimo inspired me to live life all the way.
All this travelling and music blended together in my first full Rock album called “Moments.”
Moments by Black Hawk
My first album, 'Moments', is a contemporary version of how Classic Rock may sound. A strong live sound reminding you of hot summer festivals, hanging out with friends and enjoying all the good moments in life.
13 songs that flirt eagerly with the sounds of the 60's, 70's and 80's.
Groovy drums, guitars, Hammond and Wurlitzer... And voices, of course...
My vision of life, translated in 13 rock songs. Some of them inspired by travels, some are poetic and some down to earth.
For listening quietly or for dancing, live or on the radio… At home or on the road...
